Garages at Side and Rear
The garage often dominates a house's front facade, detracting from curb appeal. So, where possible, a rear or side garage, perhaps accessible off an alley or along a driveway at the side, is the neighborly answer. In these plans a breezeway occasionally connects the garage to the rear of the house near the kitchen. A detached garage off the rear alley is a feature of many "New Urbanist," pedestrian-oriented communities. Included below are several plans for detached garages.
